Chicago Caller School

About the School

The Chicago Caller School came together in 2017 as the brainchild of Janice Cha, Barry & Anita Johnson and Arlene Kaspik. The team met in early January ’17, recruited Caller Coach Tom Miller as lead instructor and opened the doors in March, in Morton Grove, Illinois.

The first CCS caller-school took place in March 2017, taught by the late Tom Miller (one of the greatest international callers and CALLERLAB-accredited caller coaches ever). Guest instructors gave afternoon seminars from 2017 through 2020. A second weekend seminar in 2019 was taught by Tom Miller combining new callers and those who attended the 2017 school. The third weekend seminar was March 2020 again taught by Tom Miller for those who attended his earlier schools. The session abruptly ended early due to COVID-19 affecting flights out for Tom.

Staffing:

  • Tom Miller Tom was the principal instructor at each of the CCS weekend caller schools from 2017 through 2020.

  • Arlene Kaspik and Barry Johnson served as Tom’s teaching assistants. Janice ran the CCS’s operations, in effect serving as its “Dean” and principal administrator. Anita assisted Janice with the logistics of running the CCS.
